Correctly assessing weather forecasts and GRIB files and acting accordingly is one of the most important foundations for a safe and relaxed passage. The theory covered in this course is limited to meteorology for onboard practice. Below is an overview of the topics.

The course instructor, Serge Courtois, will be happy to answer your questions, such as how weather services work, what sailors need to pay attention to when using weather forecasts, and what the risks of weather apps are. The course will take place from 10:00–12:00 and 13:00–16:00 on Saturday (autumn 2026) at LGL, 41A avenue Victor Hugo, L-1750 Luxembourg. The course is conducted in the Luxembourgish language.
