The course for the Certificate of Competence A–Sea (competent crew member) takes place “on board” cruising sailboats over the weekend of 19–20 September 2026. Start: Friday, 19 September at 5:00 p.m. End of the course: Sunday, 20 September at 5:00 p.m.
This is an introductory sailing course on cruising sailboats, priced at €375 for double cabin occupancy or €750 for single cabin occupancy. The course will be organized from Bruinisse in Zeeland (Netherlands). For the A-mer / competent crew member form, please log in and click here.
The theoretical program covers the following topics:

True wind, points of sail, hoisting sails, mooring

Tacking, gybing, safety measures, behavior in harbors

Propulsion, stability, sail trim, anchoring

Life on board, knots, seasickness
For the practical part, depending on weather conditions, sailing outings on the Grevelingenmeer are planned. An information meeting with the participants is scheduled a few weeks before the start of the course. The working language on board is generally Luxembourgish.
