  • Sep 19 2026 Certificate A-Sea The course for the Certificate A – Sea, competent crew member, takes place “on board” cruising sailboats in Zeeland (NL), in Bruinisse. The theoretical program covers the following topics: sailing yacht terminology; true wind, points of sail in relation to the wind, setting the sails, mooring; tacking, gybing, safety measures, and behavior in harbors; propulsion, stability, sail trim, anchoring; life on board, knots, seasickness. For the practical part, depending on the weather, sailing outings on the Grevelingenmeer are planned.

  • Oct 20 2026 Sea and coastal plus licence (LU/DE) The Permis Mer licence (issued by the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade) is the only mandatory licence authorizing the operation of a pleasure craft under the Luxembourg flag. It permits the operation of boats and pleasure vessels flying the Luxembourg maritime flag in sea waters without any area limitations (coastal and offshore navigation). The course content focuses primarily on behaviour on the water (rules of the road and steering, navigation within buoyage systems, identifying types of vessels and their courses by day and night), as well as providing in-depth knowledge of coastal navigation and meteorology. The CÔTIER PLUS licence authorizes its holder to operate a pleasure craft of up to 20 metres in length in sea waters up to six nautical miles from the coast. The language of instruction is Luxembourgish. The courses will take place at the Lycée de Garçons, 41A, avenue Victor Hugo, L-1750 Luxembourg. A course in English will be offered shortly.

The course content focuses primarily on behaviour on the water (collision regulations, navigation within buoyage systems, identifying types of vessels and their courses by day and night, etc.), as well as providing in-depth knowledge of coastal navigation and meteorology. The Coastal Plus Licence (issued by the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade)  authorises its holder to operate pleasure craft of up to 20 metres in length, in sea waters up to 6 nautical miles from the coast. The language of instruction is English. The courses will take place at the Lycée de Garçons, 41A, avenue Victor Hugo, L-1750 Luxembourg.

The Sea Licence (issued by the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade) authorises its holder to operate pleasure craft (sailing and motor vessels) of up to 24 metres in length, in maritime waters without any area limitations (coastal and offshore navigation). The course content focuses primarily on behaviour on the water (collision regulations, navigation within buoyage systems, identifying types of vessels and their courses by day and night, etc.), as well as providing in-depth knowledge of coastal navigation and meteorology.

The Coastal Plus Licence (issued by the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade)  authorises its holder to operate pleasure craft of up to 20 metres in length, in sea waters up to 6 nautical miles from the coast.

The language of instruction is English. The courses will take place at the Lycée de Garçons, 41A, avenue Victor Hugo, L-1750 Luxembourg.
